The project of this old-time shop in Milan, founded in 1914, included two phases: the internal refurbishment and the functional reorganization, according to a modern approach, of the areas destined to clients and sales.
Here a single common space is shared between the different “souls” of this shop: production and sale of bakery products, exhibition and sale of enogastronomic products, combination of sale and eat-in areas.
The works included the conservative restoration of the original woodwork furniture, the valorisation of the plaster decorating the ceiling, the re-sizing of the gastronomy zone. The latter, not included in the original setting of the shop, had been added at a later stage. Finally, the project proposes a coffee bar area with waiting service, perfectly integrated in this early 900s environment.
The study of the internal shop windows makes immediately perceivable to the client the quality of the sold products.  Every single shelf is treated with a lighting solution that enhances the visibility of the exposed product.
The same approach is used for the street-facing shop windows.  A dehor area, integrating the coffee bar and reception area during both summer and winter periods, is also proposed.
